If you are planning to visit the Grand Canyon and want to avoid crowds, then opt to visit the Grand Canyon North Rim. Wondering what things to do at the Grand Canyon North Rim? You’re in luck, there are several things to do at the Grand Canyon North Rim. You may be surprised there is more to do than you think!

Hiking

Bright Angel Trail

Bright Angel Trail is an easy, paved path. It is only a half mile long, but it offers so many unique viewpoints to soak in and enjoy.

North Kaibab Trail

The North Kaibab Trail is one of the only trails that descends from the North Rim into the Grand Canyon. If you have a full day to hike here, start early and follow this trail all the way to roaring springs. This is about 4 miles out and 8 miles round trip.

Rim to Rim

A bucket list item for me is to hike from the South Rim to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! This is possible to complete in one day, but I would love to do a multi-day Grand Canyon hike. Hikers that go from the South Rim to the North Rim, will end by following the North Kaibab Trail. I would recommend booking a night at the Grand Canyon Lodge to finish the hike.

Stay at the Grand Canyon Lodge

The Grand Canyon Lodge is located in the heart of all the action at the North Rim. Staying here requires some pre-planning as bookings are required 13-months in advance! There are many cabins spread throughout the North Rim and they look awesome! With a lot of advance planning the North Rim would be an epic spot to book and host a wedding!

Shop at the Grand Canyon North Rim

Don’t leave the Grand Canyon North Rim without stopping at the North Rim Lodge gift shop. It has a variety of gifts and souvenirs. If you own a home or an RV and are looking for cute National Park themed decor, this is the place for you!

Relax at the Grand Canyon North Rim

The Adirondack chairs overlooking the Grand Canyon North Rim are the perfect spot to rest, enjoy a coffee, and reflect on how magnificent nature is! There is nothing better than soaking in the never-ending Grand Canyon views from one of these chairs.

Did this list surprise you of the things there are to do at the Grand Canyon North Rim? Spending 1-2 days is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the less crowded and still spectacular Grand Canyon National Park North Rim.

After visiting the Grand Canyon North Rim, plan a visit to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. An underrated, less popular National Park, with an amazing canyon views to explore.
